During the London Games, Torres-Sunang was the only representative from Southeast Asia. Her mark of 6.22 meters was good for 22nd in a field of 28. One needs to be in the top 12 to advance to the finals.

“Sana maka-perform ako ng maganda (I hope to perform well),” said Torres-Sunang, who is one of two Filipino three-time Olympians with the other being weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz. “Sobra ang hirap na pinagdaanan ko sa training (I went through hardships in training)."

Para may chance umabot sa finals (Then there’s a chance to get to the finals),” she said. “As long as ma-match or malampasan ko personal best ko, I have a chance to reach the finals. That will be the best finish in the Olympics. Eto na ang last ko (This is my last)."
