MANILA, Philippines – Three players scored in double-digits for Instituto Estetico Manila (IEM) in their 25-22, 23-25, 25-22, 25-14 triumph over Philippine Army to open their campaign in the men's division of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) on Wednesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Mark Enciso had 15 points, Jeffrey Jimenez added 14, and former Far Eastern University star Greg Dolor scored 11 points to power IEM past Army in their first game of the conference.

The Volley Masters had more attacks (54-50), blocks (9-5), and aces (4-2), while also getting 31 free points off the Troopers' errors.

After splitting the first two sets, IEM displayed its composure in seizing the third frame, before cruising to a comfortable win in the fourth set.

Army dropped to 0-2 in the conference, after losing its opening game to Vice Co. last Sunday.

Benjaylo Labide led Army with 13 points.

Meanwhile, Philippine Air Force spoiled the PVL debut of former De La Salle-College of St. Benilde star John Vic de Guzman as the Jet Spikers outlasted PLDT in five sets, 25-15, 22-25, 24-26, 25-16, 15-12.

Former MVP Ranran Abdilla had 28 points, and Fauzi Ismail added 25 markers to power the Jet Spikers, who had a huge 62-49 edge in terms of attacks over PLDT.

The Jet Spikers also had 10 kill blocks, with Reyson Fuentes accounting for three. Abdilla scored four of his 28 points off aces.

PLDT was able to seize an early cushion thanks in part to Air Force's 41 unforced errors.

De Guzman led PLDT with 18 points but no other player reached double-digits.
