The 2 winningest countries in the 8-year history of the ASEAN Basketball League will be going at it in the finals of the 2017-2018 season.

Both the Philippines and Thailand have two championships, tops in the league, under their belts.

And after the best-of-5 series tipping off on Sunday at the Sta. Rosa Multi-Purpose Complex in Laguna, only one between them will be the winningest country.

For Filipino coach Mac Cuan, this is just how it’s supposed to be – the Southeast Asian powers duking it out. “I really think this will be good for the league. It’s the first time that the lower-seeds won and defeated the top two seeds,” he said.

Indeed, third-seed Alab dethroned second-seed Hong Kong and fourth-seed Mono ousted top-seed Chong Son to set their Finals date.

Cuan then went on to say that the championship showdown will be a classic clash of styles. “It will be so good to watch because it will be Mono’s high-octane offense versus our defense,” he said.

Game 1 of the championship showdown, as always, will be LIVE and EXCLUSIVE on S+A, S+A HD, and livestream.
