The triumvirate of Lawrence Domingo, Justin Brownlee and Renaldo Balkman helped San Miguel-Alab Pilipinas get past Saigon Heat to reach the semifinals of the ASEAN Basketball League.

Alab won 96-85 against the Heat in front of an expected partisan crowd at CIS Arena in Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday to complete a 2-game sweep and arrange a semifinal clash against Christian Standhardinger and defending champion Hong Kong Eastern.

Alab and Hong Kong begin their series on Wednesday.

Domingo came off the bench to fire 21 points on 9-of-10 shooting to help Alab repeat against Saigon.

Balkman added 21 points to go with 12 rebounds, while Brownlee had 18 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists.

The Filipino club won Game 1 110-100 last Sunday.

Adding more problems for Saigon was the suspension of their coach Kyle Julius, who was banned from the series after incurring technical fouls for continuously complaining in Game 1.

Alab led by as many as 15, but the Heat threatened to come back when Viet Arnold and Akeem Scot brought Saigon to within 89-81.

Fortunately, Alab maintained the gap and assured themselves passage through the next round.

Akeem Scott led Saigon with 22 points, while Maxie Esho, who played despite a hurt ankle contributed 20.
