Donnie Nietes is thankful for all the help he’s getting at the famed Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, particularly from Freddie Roach.

“Si coach Freddie tumutulong din. May mga techniques siya na itinuro sa akin, which is the same na itinuro niya kay Manny (Pacquiao),” he told ABS-CBN News in a long-distance call.

Of course, there’s also help coming from Nietes' sparmate, former 2-division champion Brian Viloria.

Nietes and Viloria will be featured on 360 Promotions and HBO's Superfly 2 card at The Forum in nearby Inglewood on February 24.

“Nakapag-spar rin tayo with Brian ng 6 to 8 rounds. Napakagandang experience. Nagpalitan kami kami ng nalalaman sa ring,” said Nietes, who believes an opportunity to fight in the US couldn't have happened if not for Pacquiao blazing the trail.

"Laking pasasalamat ko kay Manny at nakapasok ang mga Pinoy boxers ditto."

Nietes, a champion for 10 years and 8 months now, is ecstatic to be part of a major HBO card. “Malaking malaki ito,” the reigning IBF flyweight king said. “Masasaksihan ito all over the world.”

Nietes will square off against Argentinian Juan Carlos Reveco, a former 2-time world champion.

Reveco earned a shot at Nietes after defeating Komgrich Nantapech by unanimous decision in a title eliminator last September.

“Matinding kalaban itong si Reveco,” said ALA head trainer Edito Villamor. “Maganda ang kaniyang credentials.”

“He is more of a boxer, pero 'pag nakakatama masipag mag-follow up.”

Nietes holds a 40-1 win-loss record, including 22 via knockout, to go with 4 draws, while Juan Carlos Reveco has a 39-3 card.

Nietes said he wants to beat the best of the best in his division.

“S’yempre gusto ko rin silang makalaban,” he said. “Pero depende rin 'yan sa magiging offer after ng laban na ito. Kung ang i-offer ay ubusin ko ang mga contender sa timbang ko, OK lang. Kung offer naman ay sina (Srisaket Sor) Rungvisai o (Juan Francisco) Estrada handa akong umakyat ng timbang (sa super flyweight).”
