Jerwin Ancajas kept the world junior bantamweight title when his bout with Jose Rodriguez at The Venetian in Macau late Sunday night was stopped after the 7th round because Rodriguez suffered an arm injury.

Ancajas (26-1-1) was in control before the fight, the Filipino's first title defense, was halted.

The Davao del Norte-born fighter was all over Rodriguez, whose tendency to go toe to toe played into Ancajas' hands.

Ancajas, who is being managed by Manny Pacquiao's MP Promotions, won the junior bantamweight championship in a unanimous decision victory over McJoe Arroyo of Puerto Rico in September.
