MANILA -- From being the school's basketball consultant, Frankie Lim is now the head coach the University of Perpetual Help.

Perpetual Help owner Antonio Tamayo himself made Lim’s appointment official on Wednesday after former coach Nosa Omorogbe flew back home to Nigeria due to family matters.

At first, Lim was tapped to handle the Las Pinas-based school’s basketball program and support Omorogbe as a consultant late last year.

But with this recent development, Lim has to take full responsibility for the Altas as their mentor come NCAA Season 94.

Lim brings to Perpetual a championship pedigree built throughout his basketball career after winning championships as a player in the NCAA with San Beda College and in the PBA with the Purefoods TJ Hotdog. He was also a coach for the Red Lions in the NCAA where he won three titles.

The next step is to help the Altas win their very first NCAA crown. “It’s a process. But that’s the goal,” Lim said.

Lim will start in his new post when Perpetual Help clashes with Che’Lu Bar and Grill on Monday in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Pasig City Sports Center.

Under Omorogbe, Perpetual Help made it to the Final 4 two seasons ago but faltered the next season with a 4-14 (win-loss) record.
