A Filipina maltreated by her employers in Russia is finally back home.

According to her statements documented by local media in Yakutsk, Dela Cruz supposedly planned to transfer to another agency because of delayed wages and overtime payments. She said her employers also held on to her belongings to prevent her from leaving.

In a desperate move to escape, Dela Cruz jumped from a second floor apartment where she was illegally detained. Her fall broke her back and left leg.

After seven months of recuperating, Dela Cruz was well enough to travel to be with her family. A representative from the embassy accompanied her on her trip home.
