HICKORY HILLS, Illinois – A 52-year old Filipina nurse was found not guilty of aggravated battery charges for allegedly attacking an 8-month-old patient at the University of Illinois Hospital in 2016.

The court trial that took almost two years finally came to an end on February 26th, and the Fil-Am nurse said her happiness is indescribable.

"Para akong nabunutan ng malaking tinik at first time nakahinga ng maganda,” said Crispiniana Domingo during her Thanksgiving celebration last week.

Domingo, who has been a nurse for UIC hospital for 16 years, said spending several days in jail was a living hell.

“Truth always prevails. My faith became strong and deeper. God is the only solution and answer to everything,” she said.

Domingo, who is very active in the Filipino community and in church, has a strong support system of friends and family who helped her through this tough time.

Domingo said she does not have any plans of going back to work as a nurse, but wants to continue to help others as a missionary.
