The Department of Social Welfare and Development assured conditional cash transfer (CCT) beneficiaries of a P200 increase because of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law.

Assistant Secretary Aleli Bawagan said the start of the release of the funds will depend on when the additional income from the new taxes will be generated.

“Madadagdagan ang cash incentives but I cannot say kung after 6 months from the money generated under the TRAIN law,” Bawagan said Wednesday.

He said additional funds will be given automatically as soon as funds are available. The P200-increase will be given the same way CCT funds are released, either through cash cards or automated teller machines.

President Rodrigo Duterte has signed into law the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion act on Tuesday, which lowers personal income taxes while raising duties on fuel, cars, coal and sugar-sweetened drinks.
