Even after her death, Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago continues to collect accolades, this time the Polytechnic University of the Philippines' Mabini Media Award as its "Online Personality of the Year."

Santiago's family said they were informed by PUP President Emmanuel de Guzman that the late senator overwhelmingly won as their "Online Personality of the Year" after 65,000 students cast their votes.

The awarding will be held on December 2.

Before this, Santiago was also awarded “Outstanding Citizen of Quezon City" by the Quezon City government.

The award was given by Mayor Herbert Bautista and other Quezon City officials at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Ortigas. She was represented by her sister, former CHED Commissioner Dr. Nenalyn P. Defensor.

Santiago, who passed away last September, was widely popular among the youth because of her eloquent speeches and occasional jokes and one-liners, usually delivered on social media.
