MANILA- "High school ng bayan, ngayon ay lumalaban!"

This was how a young girl started her fierce speech at the November 25 "Black Friday" protest condemning the clandestine burial of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

She stood fearlessly on stage wearing a black shirt with jacket and a bag on her back, in front of the angry crowd calling for the exhumation of Marcos' remains.

Ella Serrano, who was introduced by the hosts as a student from Batasan Hills National High School, answered the common arguments thrown by Marcos supporters against young students protesting the burial of the late dictator.

"Bagama't hindi pa naman kami nabuhay sa panahon ng Martial Law, tumitindig kami upang singilin ang pamilyang Marcos sa lahat ng ninakaw niya sa sambayanan."

Serrano, despite her young age, spoke of standing up against the government's policies, and called other youth to join the fight.

As she ended her short speech, Serrano left a line that generated applause and shouts from the crowd.

"Bagama't matatapos ang programang ito, simula pa lang ito ng paglaban ng sambayanan!"

Anti-Marcos groups hope the “Black Friday” protest will signal more demonstrations against Marcos' burial.
