MANILA - Members of the Alpha Phi Omega (APO) Fraternity will run naked at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman campus on Friday to protest the burial of late dictator Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

Every year, APO's iconic Oblation Run, which features frat men running naked around the UP Diliman campus, is dedicated to a worthy cause. This year's run will be a protest against Marcos' interment at the heroes' cemetery.

"In the span of nine days, the Duterte administration has put to waste the epic heroism of many thousands who suffered and died under Marcos the dictator by allowing his burial at the country’s field of heroes," APO said in a statement.

"We call on our government to truly serve the people, to protect the freedoms for which many have fought and died, and pay homage to these heroes by never forgetting the dark chapters of our history while moving boldly towards a more just future," the statement added.

Traditionally held in December, the Oblation Run will be held in November this year in response to U.P.'s academic calendar shift.

It will start at 12 noon at the Palma Hall Lobby. An indignation rally against Marcos' burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani will follow at 1 p.m. Activists from U.P. will join the anti-Marcos protest in Rizal Part at 4 p.m.
