Authorities arrested almost 80 Chinese nationals inside an office condominium in Makati City for their alleged involvement in illegal online gambling operations.

The Bureau of Immigration (BI), Chinese police, and Counter-Intelligence Task Force of the Philippine National Police (PNP) raided the 29th floor of Burgundy Corporate Tower in Urban Ave. wherein they found the undocumented foreigners.

Bobby Raquepo, chief of BI's fugitive search unit, said the Chinese nationals failed to show legal documents on their immigration status.

Immigration officers will conduct a background check and will also look if the apprehended Chinese nationals have standing warrants of arrest.
