A man was arrested Thursday for allegedly extorting money from a 19-year old woman in exchange for not uploading her nude photos.

Suspect Noel Espiritu, 22, was arrested in a money transfer store in Taytay, Rizal by the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group.

Espiritu allegedly threatened to upload nude photos of victim alias Shane in exchange for cash.

PNP-ACG spokesperson Sr. Insp. Artemio Cinco Jr. said the victim had met the suspect, who pretended to be a woman, online.

"Nagpanggap na babae at online seller sa theme parks ang suspect. Sakto, ang victim, naghahanap ng nagbebenta ng mga ticket kasi gusto niyang maging reseller. Nauwi rin sa friendship. Yun pala, lalaki ang suspect," Cinco said.

The two eventually became close friends, to the point that they exchanged nude photos of each other.

The victim claimed Espiritu started asking money from her in exchange for not uploading her photos online.

"Una, pictures lang wearing only undergarments. Until such time na ginawang paghubarin na. These were used against her," Cinco said.

"So nagpadala ang victim ng P1,500, tapos humingi pa ang suspect ng P4,000," he added.

The blackmailing escalated. This was the time the victim sought help from the PNP-ACG, which set an entrapment operation.

"Nagsend kami ng pera sa particular na money transfer service at minonitor. Nung nalocate na, pumwesto kami kaagad hanggang sa dumating ang suspect," Cinco said.

The suspect, however, denied the allegations.

"Napag-utusan lang po ako ni Mitch. Ibibigay ko naman sa kanya ang pera," Espiritu said.

Espiritu is facing charges of robbery extortion and violation of the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009.
