Patay si Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo "Aldong" Parojinog, Sr., kaniyang asawang si Susan Parojinog, at ilan pang kaanak matapos umanong manlaban habang inihahain ng mga operatiba ang anim na search warrant nitong madaling araw ng Linggo, Hulyo 30, sa Barangay San Roque Lawis, Ozamiz City.

Ayon kay Supt. Lemuel Gonda, spokesperson ng Northern Mindanao police, ihahain lang sana ng Regional Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Misamis Occidental Provincial Police Office, at Ozamiz City Police ang search warrant sa magkakamag-anak nang magpaputok ang mga tauhan ng mga Parojinog.
"Nagkaroon po ng pagpapaputok galing sa security ng mga Parojinog kaya po iyong PNP (Philippine National Police) natin is nag-retaliate," ani Gonda.
Sa pinakahuling tala, umabot na sa 12 ang bilang ng mga napatay sa insidente, kasama na ang mayor.

Bukod sa mga miyembro ng pamilya Parojinog, patay din ang apat na miyembro ng barangay peacekeeping action team na sina Miguel del Victoria, Nestor Cabalan, Daniel Vasquez at isang hindi pa nakikilala.

Sinuyod din ng mga awtoridad ang bahay ni dating board member at kasalukuyang city councilor na si Ricardo "Ardot" Parojinog sa Barangay Bagakay kung saan narekober ang isang shotgun, tatlong rocket propelled grenade launchers, dalawang hand grenade, walong M-79 na bala, M-79 na rifle, shabu at mga paraphernalia.

Hindi man inabutan ang konsehal sa kanyang bahay, inaresto naman ng mga awtoridad ang limang naroon.
Nakuha rin sa bahay ni Mayor Parojinog ang M-79 rifles, malaking halaga ng pera at shabu.
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella na kabilang ang pamilya Parojinog sa listahan ng Pangulo ng mga personalidad na sangkot sa ilegal na kalakalan ng droga.
Aniya, lalong pinatitindi ng administrasyon ang kampanya laban sa ilegal na droga.
