MANILA -- The House of Representatives adjourned at noon Monday, with Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez staying in his post, and without its approval for the Bangsamoro Organic Law.

The House will reconvene later Monday at 4 p.m., but in a joint session with the Senate for President Rodrigo Duterte's third State of the Nation Address.

According to multiple sources, Pampanga Rep. Gloria Arroyo was being pushed by the majority to replace Alvarez, who had been at odds with the President's daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
