MANILA -- (UPDATED) More local government units have declared a state of calamity Sunday due to continuous flooding brought by heavy rains.

Dinalupihan town and Balanga City in Bataan have been placed under state of calamity due to floods.

Classes in all levels and work in government offices have also been suspended.

The towns of Hermosa, Orani, Samal, Abucay, Pilar, Orion and Mariveles are also submerged in flood, while some parts of Morong, Bagac and Limay are also partially flooded.

Power supply in the whole province has also been cut-off.

Meanwhile, the whole province of Cavite has also been placed under a state of calamity.

According to Governor Boying Remulla, almost all coastal areas in the province are submerged in flood.

Imus and Bacoor are submerged in two-meter high flood water, while Noveleta is chest-deep in flood.

Cavite City, Naic, Tanza and Rosario are also affected by knee-deep floods.

In Tarlac, a state of calamity has been declared in the town of La Paz.

On Saturday, several towns in Pangasinan and the town of Licab in Nueva Ecija had been placed under a state of calamity.

Marikina City has likewise been placed under a state of calamity as monsoon rains continued to threaten the city's low-lying areas, particularly those living near the river. - with a report from Fred Cipres, DZMM
