MANILA- The hearing on detained Sen. Leila de Lima's disobedience to summons case was once again reset Friday after the supposed testimony of House Justice Committee Chair Reynaldo Umali failed to push through.

Umali, who was present at the hearing that lasted only 30 minutes, said he is not bothered by the delay, adding that the more important cases against De Lima were the drug charges pending against her.

House leaders in December filed the case against De Lima, a staunch critic of President Rodrigo Duterte, for advising her former driver and lover Ronnie Dayan against attending congressional inquiries into her alleged involvement in the drug trade.

The neophyte senator was arrested in February after separate charges were filed in court alleging that she received money from drug dealers at the national penitentiary to fund her senatorial campaign. She has since been detained at Camp Crame's Custodial Center.
