MANILA - Seven passengers were injured after fire hit a bus along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City on a Monday morning.

In a video sent by Sheryl Arias, a Yohan bus liner covered by thick smoke can be seen near Villa Beatrice, Westbound going to Tandang Sora.

"I'm on way to office, nakasakay ko sa shuttle... Traffic that time, nakita na lang po namin umuusok na yang bus," she told ABS-CBN News.

"Nakita namin 'yung mga tao kanya-kanyang labas ng bus. Wala kaming nakita na enforcer o police that time."

According to Charlie Nazares of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) office, the incident was reported to them at around 8:38 a.m.

Two of the injured passengers were rushed to the East Avenue Medical Center.

He said both are in stable condition, while the other passengers were given first aid.

Nazares said some of the passengers had to break the glass so they can get out of the burning bus.

The driver of the bus, meanwhile, is now in the custody of the Quezon City Traffic Bureau for further investigation.
