A Bohol board member accused of killing his mayor wife on Thursday pleaded not guilty to kidnapping and serious illegal detention charges.

Provincial Board Member Niño Rey Boniel is the primary suspect in the killing of Bien Unido Mayor Gisela Boniel.

The mayor's best friend, Angela Leyson, filed the case before the Talibon Regional Trial Court.

A separate parricide complaint is pending before the Lapu-Lapu City prosecutor's office. -- reports from Annie Fe Perez, ABS-CBN News
