MANILA - A sudden heavy downpour flooded several streets in Metro Manila on Tuesday afternoon.

The rains started at around 1:00 p.m. Gutter-deep flood along Kalaw Street in Ermita caused heavy traffic.

The MMDA also reported gutter-deep floods along EDSA - Main Avenue northbound and along the Aurora Boulevard tunnel.

Knee-deep floods, meanwhile, were reported in Boni F. Ortigas and I. Lopez streets in Barangay New Zaniga in Mandaluyong.

As early as 12:40 p.m., state weather bureau PAGASA said thunderstorms are affecting portions of Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, and Zambales.

Thunderstorms were still expected over Laguna, Quezon, Batangas, Cavite, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija within the next 2 hours since the 12:40 p.m. advisory, PAGASA said.
