ILIGAN CITY - Vice President Leni Robredo on Monday visited a community of home-based evacuees in Barangay Tubod in this city and turned over 3 sewing machines from private donors.

The community which Robredo visited was from Baranggay Dayawan in Marawi City. Their livelihood is primarily making clothes and hijabs.

These evacuees were just some of the residents of the southern Islamic city, which had been the battleground between government forces and Islamic State-linked terror groups for more than a month now.

The fighting has resulted to 375 deaths, including soldiers and civilians, as of June 22.
