After 22 days, 3 identical wooden boats that sailed to China have arrived at Pier 2 Poro Point, San Fernando, La Union.

The 18-meter boats are replicas of a "balangay", a vessel used in the region as far back as 320 AD.

The “Sama ng Tawi-Tawi”, “Lahi ng Maharlika” and “Sultan sin Sulu” with the Balangay Expedition crew led by Arturo Valdez sailed across the Philippines, Southeast Asia and China.

The Balangay Expedition was to commemorate a voyage in 1417 that was led by Sultan Paduka Pahala, the first sultanate of Cebu to be buried in Shandong, China.
