MANILA - Joining President Rodrigo Duterte's party is "not doable" for 6 senators seeking reelection next year because they have their own respective parties, said one of the so-called "The Force," Sen. Nancy Binay.

The 6 lawmakers, however, are "open to a coalition" with different parties," Binay told ANC.

"Iyung requirement for us to be a party of PDP, parang at this point is not doable," she said.

Binay, however, acknowledged that an endorsement from Duterte, who chairs PDP-Laban, would be a big boost to their re-election bid.

"We have to be realistic. Every vote counts, 'di ba (right)? Endorsement from the President is certainly welcome, as well as endorsement from other sectors," she said.

Among senators who will seek reelection in 2019 are JV Ejercito, Grace Poe, Cynthia Villar, Sonny Angara, and Bam Aquino.

Villar is a member of the Nacionalista Party, while Angara is from the Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino, Ejercito is from Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino, Binay is from United Nationalist Alliance, and Poe is an independent.

"We have agreed to be a bloc. We will be together, not just for campaigning, but for our advocacy. We help each other out," Binay said.
