MANILA (UPDATED) - Fire broke out at the Cafe by the Ruins, a popular restaurant in Baguio City Sunday.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire started at 12:04 p.m. and had reached second alarm.

Sgt. Frederic Calama of BFP-Baguio said there were people eating in the restaurant when the fire broke out.

No one was hurt as the customers and the staff were able to get out immediately, Calama said. The blaze was put out around 12:50 p.m.

According to SFO3 Nelson Duagan, the fire started at right side of the restaurant's roofing, which is made of cogon.

Duagan said iron works from an adjacent building or a cigarette butt thrown by a construction worker may have caused the fire.
