MANILA - A transmission line of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) collapsed due to a fire that hit a residential area in Alabang, Muntinlupa City on Wednesday.

In a video posted taken by Gilbert Dolot of the Bureau of Fire Protection in Muntinlupa City, the tower is seen leaning while the fire razed the residential area.

In a statement, the NGCP said the Binan-Muntinlupa 230kV line, located near the Alabang Exit of the South Luzon Expressway, was affected by the fire that started at around 9:00 a.m.

"By 9:15AM, NGCP personnel were on-site to assess the damage and check the safety perimeter. Aerial patrols were also conducted to evaluate the integrity of the tower," it added.
