MANILA - (UPDATED) Former president Benigno Aquino III and Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno on Monday faced a complaint before government prosecutors over the latter's alleged failure to disclose her wealth in full.

Aquino was included in the complaint since he appointed Sereno to the top post at the Supreme Court in 2012.

The graft complaint against Aquino, Sereno and 2 others were lodged before the Office of the Ombudsman by lawyer Manuelito Luna of the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption and suspended lawyer Eligio Mallari.

Sereno allegedly failed to submit her statements of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN) to the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) when she applied for the post, a separate impeachment complaint against her earlier alleged.

The Chief Justice, who served as professor at the University of the Philippines College of Law from 1986 to 2006, only had 3 SALNs filed on record, said impeachment complainant Lorenzo Gadon.

Tagged in the graft complaint were JBC Executive Director Annaliza Ty-Capacite and JBC Office of Selection and Nomination chief Richard Pascual.
