A "habal-habal" driver has been detained in Canduman, Mandaue City for allegedly raping a deaf woman.

Norberto Daugdaug, 30, a resident of Tugbungan, Consolacion town, was arrested by Mandaue City Police on Monday afternoon.

He was identified by the victim's father.

Daugdaug allegedly raped the 33-year-old deaf woman at around 11 pm on Sunday in Barangay Casili, Mandaue city.

According to Canduman Police, the victim was a passenger of the suspect.

Instead of taking the victim home, the suspect allegedly brought the victim to a dark and secluded place. The suspect admitted that something happened to them but claimed that it was not rape because they have a "mutual understanding."

Canduman Police said the victim was able to escape by squeezing the suspect's manhood and ran away with the suspect's pants.

Daugdaug was later seen by witnesses on board his motorcycle without any pants.

The victim and her father reported the incident to the police. A hot pursuit operation was conducted that led to his arrest.

Daugdaug is also accused of raping a 19-year-old woman in Barangay Tawason, Mandaue City on Saturday night but Daugdug denied the accusation.

Two counts of rape will be filed against Daugdaug.
