Former Senator Bong Revilla has asked for the Sandiganbayan's permission to leave the Philippine National Police detention center and be at his father's side before the latter undergoes surgery.

In a motion, Revilla said his father, former Senator Ramon Revilla Sr., will undergo "transarterial aortic valve replacement" surgery on February 8 because of severe aortic stenosis.

Revilla Jr., who has been detained since 2014, said he is "deeply worried and concerned" and feels it is his "obligation to come to the aid of his ailing father."

Revilla has asked that he be allowed to visit his father on the day of the surgery--- from 6AM to 12NN, and after the surgery on February 9, between 2PM to 8PM.
