MANILA- The local government of Valenzuela City donated on Friday 60 police cars in a bid to boost the city's anti-criminality campaign.

Aside from the vehicles, the local government also turned over 6 K9 units and kennels to the local police.

Mayor Rex Gatchalian led the turnover of the police mobiles at the ALERT Center in Barangay Malinta.

Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa said the new patrol cars would be used by the Valenzuela City Police to increase its visibility in the streets.

"Itong panahon na ito, napakasarap maging pulis, lalo na at doble ang sweldo. Mas dobleng napakasarap pag ikaw ay maging miyembro ng Valenzuela Police," Dela Rosa said in a speech during the turnover ceremony.

"These patrol vehicles will go a long way. You must consider these as your own vehicle also," he added.

Gatchalian also vowed to donate body cameras to the local police this year.
