MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte's trust rating rose in the last quarter of 2017, with an "excellent" net trust rating of 75 points, a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey revealed Thursday.

The survey found 83 percent of adult Filipinos with "much trust" and 7 percent with "little" trust in Duterte, while 10 percent said they are "undecided", a change from the 73 percent "much trust," 12 percent "little trust," and 15 percent undecided he got last September.

Duterte rebounded from his previous quarter's net trust rating of 60 points, the lowest since he became president.

His trust rating stayed "excellent" in Mindanao (+94), rose from "very good" to "excellent" in the Visayas (+76) and Metro Manila (+73), while he earned a "very good" rating in Balance Luzon (+66).

In urban areas, Duterte’s net trust rating increased to +77 from the previous quarter's +59. His rating in rural areas increased by 13 points to +74 from +61.

Meanwhile, his trust rating among classes D (or masa) and E rose to “excellent," with a rating of +80 and +7, respectively. It stayed “excellent” in classes ABC with +78.

Duterte's trust rating among men and women also rose to "excellent" from "very good," earning him a +75 rating.

The President remained popular among college graduates with an "excellent" rating of +73.

His trust rating also rose to "excellent" from "very good" among elementary (+73), non-elementary (+70), and high school graduates (+78).

The survey was conducted by SWS from December 8 to16, 2017 using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults aged 18 and above nationwide.

SWS surveyed 300 adults each in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

It had sampling error margins of ±3 percent for national percentages, and ±6 percent each for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
