LA UNION– A female Green Sea Turtle was rescued by members of Bantay Dagat stationed in Barangay Lingsat, San Fernando City on Monday morning.

The turtle is 36.5 inches long and 34 inches wide and is estimated to be around 10 to 12 years of age.

Rescuers believe that the turtle sustained its wounds from either being caught in a fine mesh net or being hit by a boat.

It was seen floating in Mananawan Reef, a marine protected area in Lingsat where fishing is prohibited.
