TACLOBAN CITY - A traffic enforcer in Tacloban City turned the street into a dance floor as he joined the country's newest dance craze, the "Trumpets" challenge.

Other members of the Traffic Operations Management Enforcement and Control Office (TOMECO) also did the cha-cha and other dance moves while manning the traffic flow in one of the city's busy streets.

This drew positive feedback from the crowd.

"Karisyohan liwat didi... Para ano, mawawara it kapoy. (It makes us happy. It takes the stress off)," Kris Sonorio, one of the pedestrians said in Winaray.

Some could not help but take videos with their cellphones. Among them is Jay R, a tourist from Iloilo City who said he will upload the video on social media sites.

"Para makita ng lahat na dito sa Tacloban, ang traffic enforcers sumasayaw," he said.

TOMECO said the dance aims to help traffic enforcers enjoy their work and brush away stress especially during busy hours. They also hope to entertain motorists and pedestrians.

Dancing is also their way to heighten the festive mood in the city as its fiesta draws near.
