ILOILO - A 56-year-old man was found dead under a coconut tree in Barangay Gua-an, Leganes town in Iloilo Friday morning.

According to Susan de Goma, she found the victim, Jimmy Heso, leaning lifeless on a coconut tree near her house.

She added that Heso was there since Thursday, drinking with his former colleagues from a nearby feeds factory. Heso was very drunk that he was not able to go home. He also fell on his seat and hit his head on a stone.

De Goma said she was among those who helped bring Heso to the tree to rest. She said he did not know that Heso was not able to go home, thinking that one of his friends brought him home.

Based on the investigation, Heso died of cardiovascular accident secondary to heat stroke. He also did not sustain any wounds aside from the one he got when he fell off his seat.

Authorities have ruled out foul play in Heso's death.
