Man killed as crane collapses in Caloocan

MANILA - A man died after the crane he was operating collapsed inside the compound of a cosmetics company in Caloocan City on Tuesday night.

Caloocan's Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) identified the fatality as Edwin Pasanes.

Authorities said the crane was in the third floor of the building on Reparo Street when it collapsed, crushing the victim to death in the process.

The cosmetics company has yet to issue a statement on the incident.

The family of the victim is asking for assistance from the company.

"Sana naman tulungan nila kami sa pagpapalibing sa kanya. Wala kaming pera, labandera lang ako," said Lordena de Leon, wife of the victim. —Report from Primy Cane, ABS-CBN News
