President-elect Rodrigo Duterte

DAVAO CITY (UPDATED) - President-elect Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday said he will send a representative to the Supreme Court to discuss the supposed problems caused by temporary restraining orders (TROs).

Duterte said TROs issued by courts, particularly on government projects, impede development.

He said that if he greenlights something, it means that it is corruption-free.

“They have to stop it (issuing TROs). When I certify as president that everything is okay, kapag nag-go signal ako, ibig sabihin niyan, walang corruption, no money changed hands there,” he said.

“Kapag ‘di kayo maniwala, wala akong pakialam. Basta alam ko pinili ako ng Pilipino para dito sa trabahong ito.”

He believes that corrupt judges and magistrates only benefit from TROs.

“You canot implement the project because there is a TRO. The TRO simply means money for the judges,” he said.

A temporary restraining order is a relief granted by the court to prevent a party from further carrying out a particular deed while the court resolves the legality of such.
