MANILA - The convoy of President Benigno Aquino III arrived at the Iglesia ni Cristo central office on Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City Monday, exactly one week before the May 9 elections.

In an interview after his visit to the sect, the President said he personally spoke with INC executive minister Eduardo Manalo and thanked the latter for supporting the administration.

Many politicians have openly sought the endorsement of the Iglesia ni Cristo, which practices bloc voting during the elections. A Pulse Asia report earlier said INC support could translate to around 1.5 to 1.8 million votes on Election Day, citing 2013 data.
