BAGUIO CITY - Roberto Acosta, a retired fine arts professor from the University of the Philippines Baguio, makes his way around the city using his bamboo bicycle.

His bamboo bike was made and given by a friend.

Acosta said, “Maganda kasi ang bamboo, very organic siya, eco friendly, kahit saan mayroon kang mahahanap na kawayan.”

Acosta also promotes the use of the bicycle to combat air pollution.“Sa bisikleta kasi, walang gasolina, walang usok na nilalabas at saka mas malaya ka ‘pag nagbibisikleta ka," he explained.

"Nakakawala ng stress kasi nasa labas ka, compared sa loob ng kahon ng sasakayan na nakakulong ka.”

Acosta also carved some Cordilleran designs on the bamboo to make his bike more appealing and detailed.
