MANILA -- After campaigning for his father and granting interviews with the press, the usually reserved Sebastian "Baste" Duterte found himself in a more familiar surrounding as he celebrated the second birthday of his son, Yair.

Baste, 28, in some of the photos making rounds online, looked every inch a doting father as he watched over his son during the construction-themed party held in Davao City last weekend.

His own father, President-elect Rodrigo Duterte, his older sister, Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte, and other family members were also in attendance. Sara even posted a photo of Baste with Yair on her Instagram account.

Yair is Baste's second child. He also has a five-year-old daughter with another woman. In an interview with the Philippine Star, Baste admitted that he felt "terrified" when he first learned that he was going to be a father at 22.

He, however, knew that he had to take responsibility.

"Kasi lalake ako eh. I needed to do something. Ayaw ko naman umasa sa tatay ko. Gusto kong ipakita sa kanya na I can handle myself. But because I was still a student, tinanggap ko pa rin naman yung allowance ko sa kanya," he said.
