MANILA - There is an outpouring of support from the Filipino community in Singapore for the family of Caitlin Soleil Lucas, a three-year-old Filipina who passed away after she was was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia.

Known to many as "Courageous Caitie," Lucas suffered from juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia. Her parents announced on Facebook on Thursday that their child passed away after her three-month battle with the disease.

In the photos taken by ABS-CBN News' Jenny Reyes, Filipinos living in Singapore were seen coming together Thursday evening at a memorial service held for Lucas.

Lucas' family plans to bring her remains back to the Philippines once the necessary documents have been arranged. Another wake will be held at the Arlington Memorial Chapels, Quezon City.

Lucas' disease began New Year 2016 when her parents spotted rashes on her body, which were initially thought to be insect bites. However, Lucas began to lose weight. There began a long, arduous process of determining Lucas' disease.

The first diagnosis was tuberculosis (TB), prompting Lucas to undergo a series of medication for TB. The kid's condition, however, continued to worsen.
