MANILA - Young Filipinos have once again proven their talent in mathematics as they bagged a total of 32 medals at an international math contest in India.

The Philippine team won 23 gold, six silver and three bronze medals in the 7th International Young Mathematician's Convention, which was held from November 30 to December 5 in Lucknow, India.

The Filipinos also emerged as overall champions in the senior division.

They also took home eight champion awards, five first runners-up and two second runners-up awards in the team contest, math quiz and math relay contest.

India and Vietnam finished second and third place, respectively.

Other participating countries are Bangladesh, Brazil Bhutan, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Nigeria, Russia, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Uzbekistan, United Arab Emirates and the United States.
