MANILA - Top world leaders will be enjoying modern Filipino food during the gala dinner for the 31st ASEAN Summit on Sunday.

A photo from Malacañang shows the menu for the gala dinner, which includes "sinigang na maya-maya sa miso" and "ensaladang ubod at alugbati" for the salad and soup.

For the main course, the leaders of Southeast Asian nations and partner countries will have Filipino steak sushi.

Chef Jessie Sincioco, who prepared the menu, said she hopes the world leaders will appreciate Filipino food after the gala dinner.

"Hopefully, when they taste what we will be serving them, they will really appreciate Filipino food," said Sincioco, who also made the menu for Pope Francis when he visited the Philippines.

The gala dinner for this year's ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings will be at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
