MANILA – As expected, Kylie Verzosa is representing the Philippines in style at the Miss International 2016 pageant in Japan.

Verzosa, who was crowned Miss International Philippines 2016 last April, looked stunning in her national costume – an intricately designed modern terno – during the pageant’s opening press preview in Tokyo on Tuesday.

Seventy women are set to compete in the coronation night on October 27.

On Monday, Verzosa took to social media to say that she is ready for the Miss International 2016 pageant.

An Instagram photo showing her holding the Philippine flag had the caption: “Philippines, this is for you, my blood, sweat and tears. I’m ready for you, Japan!”

Verzosa is hoping to bring home the Miss International crown for the Philippines this year. The country so far has five Miss International titlists, the latest being Bea Rose Santiago in 2013.

Last year’s representative to the pageant, Janicel Lubina, made it to the Top 10 and was given the Best Dresser special award.
