MANILA – The half-sister of actress KC Concepcion is Sweden’s representative to the Miss Earth 2016 pageant in the Philippines in October.

Cloie Syquia Skarne was crowned Miss Earth Sweden 2016 on Sunday night (Monday in Manila) in this year’s Miss Universe Sweden pageant.

She is the daughter of actor Gabby Concepcion and model Jenny Syquia. She adopted the surname of her stepfather, Filip Skarne.

“I’m Miss Earth Sweden 2016! Thank you to those who have supported me and believed in me. I would not have been who I am today without you,” Skarne wrote in an Instagram post on Monday.

Skarne will face Miss Philippines Earth Imelda Schweighart, who is eyeing a third straight victory for the country.

The Philippines has won Miss Earth thrice, including back-to-back wins from Angelia Ong (2015) and Jamie Herrell (2014).

Winning the Miss Universe Sweden crown this year is Ida Ovmar, who will compete in next year’s pageant set in the Philippines.

The country’s representative, Maxine Medina, is hoping to follow in the footsteps of her predecessor, Pia Wurtzbach, who is the reigning Miss Universe.
