MANILA - The new gastropub District 8, which counts celebrities Daniel Padilla, Vice Ganda and James Yap among its owners, had its soft opening on Tuesday before its official public opening on August 14.

Aside from the three celebrities, the other investors in the restaurant include Billy Crawford, Paul Artadi, Marc Pingris, Charlton Yu and former San Juan vice mayor Francis Zamora.

Tuesday night’s event was also attended by family and friends of the star-studded owners. Here are some of the photos of the resto and its guests:

In a previous interview with entertainment site Push, Zamora shared that Padilla has been very hands-on in the conceptualization of their new business.

“He would take time out from his very busy schedule to attend meetings and give his input. I know he’s very excited as this will be a major business venture,” he said.

Asked what foodies can expect from District 8 Manila, Zamora said: “Expect to enjoy a fusion of international flavors and wide array of drinks while enjoying music by superstar DJ Ace Ramos. Expect different theme nights as we go along for a different feel every now and then.”

Zamora said they envisioned District 8 Manila to be the “melting pot of celebrities, athletes, and personalities.”

The gastropub is located at District 8 Unit 202 G-Strip at the Greenhills Shopping Center in San Juan.
