A social worker from Davao who spent years helping children from a local Badjao community was named this year's Gawad Geny Lopez Bayaning Pilipino awardee.

John Mark Odani won the Bayaning Kabataan Award for providing health services to the indigenous peoples living in far-flung villages in Maitum town, Sarangani, while Proriasis Philippines was named Bayaning Samahan for raising awareness about the condition and helping those who suffer from it get rid of the stigma associated with the disease.
