In an Instagram post on Sunday, Winwyn Marquez thanked everyone who have already expressed their support for her bid even at this early stage.

Marquez said she will make sure to just enjoy this journey while hoping for the best as she competes with 34 other contestants.

The coronation night of the Miss World Philippines will be on September 3 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The winner will succeed Catriona Gray, who finished in the top 5 in last year's Miss World pageant, the country's highest placement since Megan Young won the country's first Miss World crown in 2013.
