MANILA -- Orthotic footwear brand Aetrex is offering free foot scanning to help those with painful feet.

“The alignment of your feet is connected to the alignment of your upper body. So if your feet are not aligned, it can lead to heel, knee, and back pain,” explained Kim Catungal, brand senior officer of Aetrex, which is located in Glorietta 3.

Aetrex's iStep Nova foot scan is pretty straightforward. Just put your feet into the what resemble foot pods and check the screen. You have the option of putting in your email address if you want the results to be sent to you.

The machine then scans your feet giving a granular analysis of where the hardest hit pressure points are. The report that’s given is comprehensive, even covering foot arch and which foot is dominant.

The machine then recommends an insole that will address the machine’s findings. A staff member will talk you through the report, foot graph, and stats.

"Aetrex Lynco Orthotic insoles help correct the foot alignment and can also help correct your posture," Catungal said.

There are different insoles depending on what footwear you usually use and the kind of activities that you do. For instance, there are insoles for work, walking, running and sports. The machine recommends the type of insole, size, and arch support.

Customers have the option of trying out the recommended insoles and re-running the tests again to see if the there was an improvement.

Besides insoles, Aetrex also has a variety of flips and sandals that have the Lynco Orthotics technology built in.
