ILOILO CITY - Prison inmates at the BJMP male dormitory in Iloilo City started their first day of classes under the alternative learning system on Thursday.

More than 20 prison inmates facing charges of violation of Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and Violence Against Women and Children were part of the first shift of students.

JO1 Franckie Andiano, who teaches mathematics, is one of the teachers in the alternative learning system classes. He graduated with an education degree in 2008.
